BRISTOL ITALIAN CAR DAY - 30TH APRIL 2005

BRISTOL ITALIAN CAR DAY - 30TH APRIL 2005

Tuesday 10 May 2005

This event was very well supported and extremely well organised by the Alfa Romeo Club.  Our thanks go to Nick Wood and John Pussey for providing an excellent day's entertainment, both for exhibitors and visitors.  Special thanks must also go to the volunteers who remained on station directing traffic and providing security for the whole day.

The spectacle of an Italian sports and super car traffic jam at 9.30 am in Bristol city centre was quite unforgettable!  There was a huge showing of Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat, Lamborgini and Abarth cars.   Whilst it was frustrating that these wonderful cars could not be seen in full blooded action, it was great to hear them fired up at timely intervals during the day.  The whole event generated a superb atmosphere.

If the event is extended again next year to include some type of demonstration, Middle Barton Garage will certainly be there to give support.

Recognition should also be given to the Bristol City authorities for their very positive attitude towards a motoring event in the heart of old Bristol and to the contribution by all the sponsors (particularly Nico's Restaurant where truly wonderful Italian food is served!)

Well done to everyone involved!
